A little about me ...

Hi, I'm Amy.

A Liverpudlian with Hungarian and Scottish parents. I love my city and am extremely proud of my heritage. I couldn't think of a better name to use for my wee business than my own, PATKAI. My day job is not a creative one, so this venture has been a great way to channel my more artistic side.

My interest in drawing and art began as a kid. I was encouraged by my parents to draw cards for family birthdays and would find myself doodling on pretty much anything around. Over the years the designs improved, my school notebooks are proof of it.  If you want the evidence, check out my instagram feed and find there post with some of my old school notebooks!

I have experimented with different mediums, but when it comes to painting I stick with acrylic and silk paints. Shout out to my Dad, a creative soul, who introduced me to silk painting. I love creating abstract pieces, often with bold colours.

My love for pyrography began a few years ago when a friend gave me a pyrography pen. Abs, not sure you knew just how much of an impact that one gift would have! I began experimenting and developing my own style. I enjoy working with cheese boards, coasters and trays. All pyrography is done by hand, making each piece absolutely unique.

In August 2018 I launched PATKAI ART.

Initially my focus was on my greeting card collection, which is still very much expanding and at the heart of the business. My paintings and homeware products were later additions. When it comes to homeware pieces, I sell my pyrography and jesmonite homeware pieces.

In 2021 I made the decision to step back from this business and put things on hold. COVID played a large role in that decision, as well as some personal circumstances. Never did I imagine I would be placing things on pause for as long as I did, however it was the right thing for me at the time. While the business was formally on pause, I continued to create in the background.

Things kicked back into action in May 2025 when I re-launched PATKAI ART.

My online store is regularly updated so do keep an eye out on new pieces.

I attend various artisan markets in the North West throughout the year, so it is worth keeping an eye out on my Instagram for upcoming events.

Big Love.
