WOODEN PIECES

When it comes to the wooden pieces such as boards, trays and dishes it is important to know they are all finished and sealed with a 100% natural oil and wax.

The oil ingredients -
Refined hemp oil, raw linseed oil and orange oil.

The wax ingredients -
Devon beeswax, raw linseed oil & orange oil.

The oil and wax are food safe, so pieces are ready to be used.
Oil and wax does wear off in time, at a quicker rate if the piece is used often.

In light of this, best practice is to periodically, depending on usage, apply new oil and wax layers to ensure their longevity and hygiene.

If you want any advice or information on applying these, or want to know what I use then do drop me a message or email.

I also have a range of printed wooden coloured coasters. These have a shiny smooth finish.

JESMONITE
The Jesmonite pieces I make are all finished with a natural wax sealant.
This helps to seal and protect each piece.
The wax provides a level of water resistance, but it is important to remember it is only that, resistance, the pieces are NOT waterproof.

Overtime the wax on the piece will wear away.
The timeframe will greatly vary depending on usage, handling and how often you are cleaning it.
If you want to keep the piece as water resistant as possible and looking its best, apply a new wax layer when needed.

As an example, I personally look at re-applying new wax layers to my trinket dishes and candle holders once a year. I don't tend to handle them directly much and they only require light dusting at times. So annual re-application of wax has worked for me.

If you are handling pieces daily and cleaning them often, then I would advise you look at re-applying more frequently - possibly every 3 or 6 months - depending on how quickly the wax is wearing off.

If you want any help on application tips and the type of wax I use - then do feel free to reach out.

Cleaning Advice:

Jesmonite pieces are not dishwasher or microwave safe.

Candle holders:
For the candle/tealight holder pieces please note -
